Gramicid - Eco-Friendly Disinfectant
What is Fumigation and what is the process involved?
Fumigation in the pharmaceutical industry is a critical process for maintaining a sterile environment, especially in production areas. When using a product like Gramicid, the process typically involves the following steps :
Preparation : Ensure that raw materials, finished goods, intermediates, or in-process goods are not present in the area to be fumigated. If they are, they should be covered with polythene bags.
Safety Measures : Operators must use nose masks and goggles during fumigation.
Sealing the Area : Close all windows and doors, and switch off Air Handling Units (AHUs) before starting the fumigation process.
Fumigation : Place 5% Gramicid solution in the fogger and turn it on. After the fumigation is complete, turn off the fogger and label the area as “Area under fumigation, do not enter” on every entrance
Contact Time : 60 minutes
Restoration : After 30 minutes of ventilation, restart the AHUs to stabilize the required temperature and humidity, then resume routine production operations.
